Information Malaga Costa Del Sol Airport

Your gateway to the Costa del Sol and the rest of the province. Situated in the Churriana area only 8 kms from the city of Malaga. Direct flights to most major airports in Europe can be found from many different airlines with some of the major actors being Ryanair, Easyjet, Iberia, British airways, Scandinavian airlines and Norwegian. The airport consists of 3 terminals and 2 runways. Terminal 1 was the first and only used in the early years and received tourists from the 60s up until when terminal 2 also called Pablo Ruiz Picazzo was finished. In 2010 terminal 3 was inaugurated.

Buses, taxi, train and public parking at Malaga airport

The only arrival exits are located in terminal 3 and heads out to an open air square where you have Taxis waiting 24h. In front of the arrival exits you have the preferente parking where you can have your Uber waiting for you. This is also where the transportation hub is located leading you to connect with the local train taking you to the main train station in Malaga or the other way to Fuengirola. You can also walk to the parking express and parking 1 through the foot bridge located on level 2 reachable from the elevators and conveyor belts at the transportation hub. Parking express costs more and parking 1 is a little cheaper.

Car hire Malaga airport

There are several companies with desks in the arrival terminal and basement of the airport and here you can also get a hire car without booking if availability allows. However we always recommend booking a Malaga rental car before departing to make sure there is a car available. This is very important during the summer months and Easter as demand for hire cars is high.

There are also many local car hire companies off site delivering pre booked hire cars to meet the client on arrival.

By searching online for inclusive Malaga car hire with no excess you will get several companies to choose from in terminal and off site. It is very important to compare car hire rates in Malaga as there is a huge difference in headline rates online. Mostly these rates are not inclusive and the client has to pay additional costs on arrival for the hire car in Malaga.

Private parking Malaga airport

Apart from the public parkings at Malaga airport, Long stay parking, Express parking, Parking 1, Parking Preferente and parking Vip there are many options for leaving your vehicle when flying out. At the Commandante Garcia Morato opposite the San Miguel brewery there are several indoor parkings open 24h. At San Julian and Churriana there are several outdoor parkings many with courtesy bus service to the airport. With most companies you can pay daily rates or take a yearly contract. If you choose a yearly contract make sure there are no additional charges.
