When visiting the Costa del Sol, there are many interesting and scenic day trips that can be taken by car. Here are a few examples:

  1. Ronda: The historic town of Ronda is located in the mountains, about an hour and a half drive from the Costa del Sol. It is famous for its stunning architecture and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Ronda is a well-preserved town and it is famous for the New Bridge (puente nuevo) a very characteristic bridge that connects the town.

  2. Granada: This beautiful city is about two hours drive from the Costa del Sol. It is home to the Alhambra, an ancient palace complex and UNESCO World Heritage site, which is one of the most visited tourist attraction in Spain.

  3. Nerja: Located on the eastern end of the Costa del Sol, Nerja is a picturesque town known for its beautiful beaches, coves, and charming old town. It is about an hour and a half drive from the Costa del Sol, and is a great destination for swimming, sunbathing, and exploring the local culture.

Marbella Old town and Puerto Banus: These two destinations are located in the Costa del sol, Marbella Old town is a charming town with traditional white houses, cobbled streets and a stunning castle, also its markets and craft shops are a must-see. On the other hand, Puerto Banus is a luxury marina famous for its high-end shops, bars and restaurants.

  5. Mijas: This town is located on the mountains and is a great option for a day trip. It has a charming village center with white-washed houses and its streets are full of artisans. A walk through the town is a must, also you can take a horse-drawn carriage ride to see the town from a different perspective.
